Driving to the loghouse from Vancouver was a very freeing transition from city life to valley calm. After a welcoming tour by the Long Term Artist Ali Bischoff, I woke up the next morning to the beating sounds of the woodpeckers, happy to be so in tune with nature.
I was able to work very focused in one of the five studios while marveling at the busy chipmunks just outside my floor to ceiling window door. The spacious and modern kitchen allowed for great meal preps and joined dinners.
We all introduced each other to our work and work in progress. A sense of community grew quickly with shared hiking trips and cold water dips. Some days ended with melting marshmallows over a bonfire and conversations about art and life.
