Jude Pachiorka (he/him)
September - November 2024
Recently graduated from the BFA program at UBC, Vancouver–based artist Jude Pachiorka (b. 2002, Regina, SK) is a unique pop art style creator. He is known for his bright, energetic methods, creating a narrative for the viewer to follow. Having a cast of eccentric characters inspired by nostalgic imagery and the desire to separate the appreciation of the work and the appreciation of the idea behind it has allowed Pachiorka to dip his artistic abilities into many different forms of media. Some of these forms include painting, drawing, screen-printing, and sculpture. Alongside his personal projects, Pachiorka has also exhibited artwork at UBC’s AHVA Gallery, the Slice of Life Gallery in Vancouver, and The Holy Art Gallery in London, UK.

Working in Keremeos and being a part of the SAR has had a profound impact on my development as an artist, and I am deeply grateful for both the opportunity and the welcoming, supportive environment that has been provided. Spaces like this are invaluable for artists, offering not only a place to focus and refine one’s practice, but also the chance to connect with a vibrant community of like-minded individuals. The freedom to explore my art in such a creative, collaborative setting has been truly transformative. Throughout my time here, I had the privilege of meeting a number of talented artists whose work and journeys I will continue to follow with great interest, even though our time together was relatively brief. The relationships built here are lasting, and I feel fortunate to have been part of this community, even for a short while. The three months I spent in Keremeos passed in the blink of an eye, and it’s bittersweet to see my time here come to a close. The experience has been enriching in ways I had not anticipated, and if given the chance, I would gladly return to continue my artistic journey in this inspiring space. I highly recommend this opportunity to emerging artists who are looking for an environment that fosters creative exploration, personal growth, and meaningful connections within the arts community.
