I had a very productive three months at the Similkameen Artist Residency – it was a beautiful space to work, rest and explore. As my practice is grounded in exploring different ecosystems, spending time in such a unique place was incredibly inspiring, and I was able to do extensive field research. The residency format of sharing space with other artists allowed me to not only get helpful feedback on my own work, but to learn from my colleagues’ research, skills, and ideas. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and to have been a guest on the unceded territories of the Syilx tmixʷ (Syilx/Okanagan) Nation.
